Built around 1850, completely restored and updated, this beautiful large house is one of the few typical homes still remaining in the Rockport Harbor. In 1931, it was called the "Community House" by the Boston architect Paul A. Wood. Owned at that time by the great philanthropist Mary Louise Curtis Bok Zimbalist, the founder of the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia, PA, the house was a vacation haven for music professors and students of the institute for many summers. Later owned by the writer Lew Dietz, and since the 80's, by a couple of classical musicians, the house has been visited over the years by renowned writers, painters, musicians, photographers, professors, architects and physicians.

Located on the east side of Rockport Harbor with a complete view towards the west side, the house is the perfect place for vacation. The ocean shore combines the beauty of the water, the large granite rocks, the Norwegian maples, the oaks and the northern pines.  Each season offers unforgettable colors, from the beautiful foliage of Autumn to the blossoming flowers of Spring.

The house is located within short walking distance from the Rockport Village and it's famous Rockport Harbor Bridge,The Rockport Marine, The Opera House, Bay Chamber Concerts (featuring the renowned Vermeer String Quartet) and  Maine Photographic Workshops.
